Our Story
How It Started
The Cowboy Cookers BBQ Team formed during Fall 1988 and first competed in the HLSR World Championship BBQ Cook-off in 1989. Since then many members became further involved by volunteering on various rodeo committees within the HLSR.
Today
Recently several members decided to take the club to the next level and turn it into a Non-Profit Organization allowing the team to give back to Texas youth and Education. On August xx, 2025 the IRS and Secretary of the State of Texas confirmed and recognized the Cowboy Cookers BBQ Team, Inc. as a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization paving the road for giving direct donations to the youth of the State of Texas.
